Letter From Rachel to her Mother Wedesday February 18th 2009
Dear Mother,
Unforntunatly, we won't have a baptism this weekend. Mercy our investigator told us the other day that she had post natal depression and that she had drank that morning. And then over the weekend she went out of town to a friends house in Rugby. We haven't been able to see her yet. But I have faith. I know that she will be baptized, but not this weekend. People have to give up everything against the word of wisdom and law of chastity for 10 days before they can be baptized. But everything is still going good.
President Bullock and his wife our doing a flat inspection of all the flats in our mission. Ours is tommorrow. This morning though our landlord rang us up and said he was coming over to fix our house. We have been bugging him since Sister Bullock told us too. I think what made him actually do it was the flat inspection tommorrow. So he showed up with a whole crew of men and they are painting and just doing everything. The only problem is we won't have time to really clean. But hopefully we can figure something out.
We have quite an interesting new investigator. His name is Vincent. We had set 2 appointments before, which he didn't show up for. But this time he did. It turns out he is a wicha. Or in other words a witch. But we taught the restoration and it was so powerful, the spirit was just very strong. Afterward, he said he had a lot of pondering to do.
Also, our ward mission leaders wife is not a member. Her name is Loraine and won't take the lessons, but is refferred to as a dry member. Meaning she does everything, even visiting teaching, but won't get baptized. But she has really been opening up to us and is now talking about when she gets baptized. So hopefully, that will happen. We talked about Emma Smith with her. It was really cool.
Thank you so much for the emails and the support you give me mom. It sounds like you are doing wonderful. I did get Karens emails, but I can't read them. I wish I could. But the rules are the same. I can send them to you and you can print them off and send them in letter form or she can write me a letter. But tell her I love her and thank you. And I will try to write her soon. I love you.
Love, Sister coleman
